Sweet Potatoes

8 lb lard bucket of sugar
4 lb lard bucket of water

Boil syrup until thick and it strings
Drop potatoes into syrup
Cook until you can stick a fork in them
take out of syrup and place in jar
pour syrup over potatoes and seal.
